Sorrento is an amalgamation of a resort and an old town and a perfect base for exploring the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Naples and the ruins of Pompeii. A multitude of luxury hotels eagerly cater to the affluent and the well-heeled struck by wanderlust. You could either relax at the Marina Grande port or walk up to the many museums and monuments; this place will indelibly keep you occupied.
Getting there:
The Naples’ Capodichino Airport is the closest to the town of Sorrento and buses connect the two. Taxis are also an option; however, they can be very expensive. Ferry connections are equally excellent.
