A more modest fashion avenue
Word to the wise: There is an indoor farmer's market here with fantastic fresh produce where many locals pick up their groceries.

Tipple of choice: Stop at speciality deli Castroni (at number 196) for one of their exceptional espressos made with house-roasted coffee. No wonder it's good — they've been doing it since 1932.
The fashion pulse beats strongly here. Just north of the Vatican, Via Cola di Rienzo may not be as exclusive as the shopping quarters around the Spanish Steps, but neither is it as expensive. With shops and boutiques aimed at more modest budgets, yet still packed with fresh looks and interesting designers, this is a popular choice with Romans, and less crowded than the more central shopping streets.

Shopping is not the only attraction here; many Romans take to the wide boulevards, particulary on the weekends, for an afternoon passegiata, stopping at one of the many cafes.
