Vancouver's commercial, financial, and entertainment heart
Noteworthy for: Unlike many major cities, there is no freeway running through downtown Vancouver, making it easier, not to mention more pleasant, to navigate.

Easily the busiest area of Vancouver, downtown is the major tourist and retail hub, home to the city's most prominent business and financial blocks. Vancouver's iconic skyline is centered on downtown, with Canada Place, by the harbor, anchoring the view as the area's flagship building. English Bay and Sunset Beach are also classed as part of this area.
This is where you'll find shopping mecca Robson Street; the Vancouver Art Gallery; one of Vancouver's tallest buildings, the Lookout; and the cruise ship and SeaBus terminals. Granville Street features restaurants, bars, and theaters, and green spaces can be found between the skyscrapers from Robson Square and Nelson Park, to the peaceful Harbour Green Park by the Vancouver Convention Centre.
