Bihar's rural development department is launching a comprehensive social audit of all MGNREGA projects at the panchayat level. The zilla parishad (ZP) has decided to construct roads for private industries in rural areas through the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). For this, it has asked the gram panchayat to allow the Maharashtra Industries Development Corporation (MIDC) to collect property tax from industries as per a government resolution (GR) in this regard.
