Ceasefire in Jammu

Israel has criticised remarks by Khawaja Asif, calling them “outrageous” and questioning Pakistan’s neutrality in regional diplomacy. Asif described Israel as “evil” and a “curse for humanity.” He also alleged civilians were being killed across Gaza, Iran and Lebanon. The row comes as Islamabad hosts United States–Iran ceasefire talks, with Gideon Sa’ar also condemning the remarks.

Israel has launched an offensive campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon. Overnight strikes targeted Hezbollah sites including weapons depots and infrastructure. At least 31 people were killed and 149 wounded in the attacks. The Israeli military stated the offensive is expected to last several days. This escalation follows recent rocket and drone attacks on Israeli territory.

In yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistani Rangers on Monday fired mortar shells on border outposts at several places in Jammu and Kashmir's Arnia sector, prompting retaliation by the BSF personnel guarding the international border.

Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire agreement along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday by firing at a forward Indian post in Arnia sector.

A Border Security Force (BSF) soldier was injured today as Pakistan yet again violated the Ceasefire in Jammu & Kashmir. The ceasefire violation took place between 7-7:30 AM today in Arnia and the BSF promptly retaliated.

The Pakistan army violated the ceasefire by resorting to unprovoked firing at Indian positions on the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, an official said on Wednesday.

The Centre today announced an end to the Ramzan Ceasefire in Jammu & Kashmir. The home ministry tweeted today saying the Centre has decided against extending the ceasefire. The ministry added that security operations against terrorists will now resume.

Three border out posts (BOPs) of BSF were targeted in the firing.

The unprovoked ceasefire violation was initiated by Pakistan at 11.30am by firing with small arms and intense shelling with mortars along the Line of Control (LoC) in Balakote sector.

Sitharaman, addressing a press conference on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the NDA government, said the Army was given the right to adequately respond to any cross border attacks or unprovoked firing.

Reports say 20 BSF posts were targeted by Pak troops in Arnia and RS Pura sectors.
