The sudden demise of legendary singer-composer Bappi Lahiri has come as a shock to the whole nation, including his fans and colleagues from the film industry. Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty’s hit film ‘Disco Dancer’s filmmaker Babbar Subhash’s wife was rushed to a Mumbai hospital after suffering from intestinal lung disease.

From 1st to 6th December the fifth anniversary of the INDIAN FILMS FESTIVAL, Russia will be held in 24 Russian cities, organized by the film company 'Indian Films' together with the Indian National Cultural Centre with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Embassy of India in Russia. Film Screenings will be held in the national cinema network Cinema Park' in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi and other cities.

Mithun Chakraborty's musical film 'Disco Dancer' grossed Rs 6.40 crore at the domestic box office, considered a big number at that time. However, it struck gold overseas. In Soviet Russia, when the film was released in 1984, it smashed box office records and became the biggest hit in the country, selling 12 crore tickets and the approximate gross earning was 60 million roubles (nearly Rs 94.28 crore). The total number brought 'Disco Dancer’s worldwide earnings to Rs 100.68 crore.

For years, a rumour has circulated that Rajesh Khanna slapped Raza Murad due to Murad's alleged closeness with Dimple Kapadia. Now, Raza Murad has finally addressed this persistent gossip, firmly denying its validity. He clarified that he never visited Film City with Dimple, nor did any such confrontation with Rajesh Khanna ever occur, dismissing the rumour as entirely false.

“Bappida I will miss u forever, mithun” — this was the message that Mithun Chakraborty sent out a little over 24 hours after Bappi Lahiri’s death. The actor had been busy with his hotel work on the outskirts of Bengaluru and Mysore the day Bappi breathed his last in Mumbai.
