The Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) has registered its protest over actor-producer Vijay Babu, who is accused in a rape case, attending the annual general body meeting of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) in Kochi on Sunday. AMMA general secretary Idavela Babu justified his participation, saying the case was sub-judice and the association will act according to the court verdict. He also said the actor-producer had stepped down from AMMA executive committee. The general body also decided to recommend expulsion of actor Shammy Thilakan for "failing" to keep the organization discipline.

A Kerala-based actress has withdrawn her sexual harassment complaints against prominent actors, including Mukesh M and Jayasurya, citing lack of government support. The actress, who had accused the actors of verbal and physical abuse, is facing a POSCO case herself, which she claims is false.

Actor Jayasurya was questioned by police regarding a sexual abuse allegation by a female actor during a film shoot. He denied the charges, calling them false. An FIR was registered under IPC Section 354. Other film personalities, including Mukesh, Maniyanpilla Raju, and Idavela Babu, are also accused. These allegations emerged after the Justice K Hema Committee report.

Senior actress Revathy, Padmapriya and Parvathy who are members of both WCC (Women in Cinema Collective) and AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists), have send an open letter to AMMA general secretary Edavela Babu, demanding to reconsider the association's decision to reinstate Dileep into AMMA.
