Casio has launched the GST-B1000 series under its G-STEEL lineup in India, priced at Rs 29,995. The watch pairs G-SHOCK's trademark toughness with a slimmer, all-metal build—something the brand hasn't always managed without adding bulk.
The redesigned shock-resistant structure is notably lighter than earlier G-STEEL models. A newly developed compact module handles both Tough Solar charging and Bluetooth connectivity, without making the watch feel thick on the wrist.
Slimmer build, same G-SHOCK toughness—and a design rooted in 1983
The GST-B1000 draws heavily from the DW-5000C—the original G-SHOCK from 1983. The octagonal case and brick-pattern dial are direct callbacks to that watch. The bezel mixes straight and circular hairline textures with mirror polishing, giving it a finish that feels more refined than typical G-SHOCK fare.
Color accents in black, blue, and green run through the inset dial. Each color ties to a core G-SHOCK value—the drive to take on challenges, water resistance, and shock resistance. It's a small detail, but a considered one.
The watch moves easily between a boardroom and a trail without looking out of place in either. It's available at select Casio and G-SHOCK stores across India, and online for those who'd rather skip the trip.
