Intel, Cognizant and Microsoft CEOs meet PM Modi; Praise India’s efforts on AI and chipmaking
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Intel chief Lip-Bu Tan and Cognizant chief executive Ravi Kumar S met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (December 9), lauding the central government’s efforts in boosting the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and establishing a semiconductor design and manufacturing policy. All the three CEOs committed to the country's growth vision.
“Honored to meet Prime Minister @narendramodi in New Delhi this afternoon. We had a wide-ranging discussion on a variety of topics related to technology, computing and the tremendous potential for India. I applaud the Prime Minister for putting in place a comprehensive semiconductor design and manufacturing policy and Intel is committed to support the India Semiconductor Mission,” Tan said.
“Our CEO, @imravikumars along with Rajesh Varrier, Chairman & Managing Director, Cognizant India had the distinct privilege of meeting with the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri @narendramodi, for an inspiring conversation on accelerating AI adoption and advancing education and skill development to enhance AI capabilities and productivity,” the IT giant said.
“Our CEO also reaffirmed to the Prime Minister Cognizant’s continued commitment to India and apprised him of our plans to expand into emerging cities to promote equitable growth and talent development,” it added.
Meanwhile, Kumar thanked Modi for an inspiring discussion on India’s AI-first roadmap.
“Thank you PM @narendramodi ji for an awe inspiring conversation on India’s AI-first roadmap, need for global enterprises to drive higher velocity of AI adoption, education and skilling reforms to build AI capabilities and uplifting productivity for inclusive growth @Cognizant @AshwiniVaishnaw @dpradhanbjp,” Kumar posted on his X handle.

To support the country’s ambitions, Microsoft is committing US$17.5B—our largest investment ever in Asia—to help build the infrastructure, skills, and sovereign capabilities needed for India’s AI first future,” Nadella added.
Intel CEO commits to India’s chipmaking potential
Intel CEO shared photos from his meeting with Modi, highlighting discussions on technology, computing and India's growth potential in semiconductors. Tan also praised Modi's semiconductor policy and reaffirmed Intel's support for the India Semiconductor Mission, a program wherein the government earmarked Rs 76,000 crore to foster domestic chip design and manufacturing ecosystems.“Honored to meet Prime Minister @narendramodi in New Delhi this afternoon.
