Infosys’ development centre marks 20 years
PUNE: Infosys Pune Development Centre completed 20 years in the city today. The development centre (DC) has been in operation since 1996 and started with 150 employees then.
Today, the centre boasts of 38,000 of the company’s employees – largest for the company in terms of headcount at any one centre.
To mark this milestone, the company said that the DC has lined up a series of activities that includes cultural programs and other employee-led activities to celebrate these 20 “vibrant years.”
Over the years, the DC has been a strategic community partner invested in the development of Pune, the company said.
Many of the leaders from the DC are part of think-tanks that contribute to the betterment of the city. The CSR arm of the DC, Sparsh- A healing Touch’, focuses on areas such as education, medical aid and relief to the poor.
Some of the activities of ‘Sparsh’ involved construction of a school building in Mann village, blood donation campus, breast cancer awareness session, health check-ups, stem cell donor registration drives and the like.
