HTC starts shipping its Vive VR headset
You can experience virtual reality from the comfort of your home, as HTC has started selling its Vive VR headset online on vive.com.
Even for international orders, the Vive VR will be shipped within two or three days. However, shipping is limited to a list of 24 countries, including Australia, France, Deutschland, Iceland, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom and United States.
Apart from this, HTC Vive VR headset is also being made available for pre-order at select retail partners, including Microsoft Stores, GameStop and Micro Center, where it is expected to arrive sometime sooner this week. Representatives will be available to guide people at these stores when they use the VR headset for the first time.
To make things even better, the current retail demo locations will soon be going up. Microsoft Stores will be expanding from 29 to 51 locations, GameStop will increase demo locations from 10 to 40, and Micro Center will add 5 more locations to bring its total location count to 10.
This basically means that if you live in North America, you can try HTC’s virtual reality headset at over 100 retail locations.
HTC had originally started pre-orders in February and started shipping the headset in April, but until this week, the company has been experiencing shipping delays and complaints from customers who pre-ordered the Vive VR headset.
