WWE Announces Two Exciting Matches for SmackDown on 9/27

Next week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown is already shaping up to be an exciting affair. WWE has already announced two matches that are set to take place on the fated day. First, Bayley will be taking on Naomi in a #1 contenders match for the WWE Women’s Championship. Naomi and Bayley took on Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton in a Tag Team Tornado match on the latest episode of SmackDown.

The winner from the tag team match was supposed to head to Bad Blood. But, both Bayley and Naomi ended up pinning Nia Jax together. So, now their match on SmackDown 9/27 will decide who goes on to face the reigning champ, Nia Jax at Bad Blood 2024. On the other hand, we will get to see yet another match between Carmelo Hayes and Andrade.

Andrade took on LA Knight for the WWE United States Championship on the latest episode of SmackDown. While the former gave an excellent performance, the Megastar ended up getting away with the win. Following the match, Andrade and Hayes got into an altercation backstage and will now be looking to settle their differences in the ring next week. Updated match card for SmackDown on 9/27

• WWE Women’s Championship #1 Contender’s match: Bayley vs. Naomi
• Carmelo Hayes vs. Andrade (Andrade leads the series 3-2)

Both Naomi and Bayley are former WWE champions, so we should have no doubt about the quality on display when they fight next week. The former champions know that a title shot is on the line, so it'll be interesting to see how they approach the match. Will Naomi go on to face Nia Jax at Bad Blood 2024, or will we get a rematch between Bayley vs. Nia Jax, who last fought at SummerSlam 2024?

Carmelo Hayes and Andrade have fought in a total of five matches over the last few weeks. Currently, Andrade holds the lead in their series with a score of 3-2. When the pair face off on next week’s episode, Carmelo Hayes will finally have a chance to even things up. Andrade and Hayes don’t have a single bad match between the two of them, so we should be in for another fine performance.

Apart from these two matchups, a dumpster match featuring Michin and Chelsea Green has also been announced. However, that is set to take place on 10/4. For now, the two matches mentioned above are the only ones confirmed for next week's episode of SmackDown.
