WWE’s NXT brand made its CW debut in a great shift from USA Network on October 1st with a grand celebration of several high-octane matches on the cards including two championship matches. CM Punk served as a special guest referee during the headlining match of the show, Ethan Page vs. Trick Williams. But, as the event ended, Punk treated fans with more offering Pizza Party on their way out of the arena.

CM Punk treated fans with Pizza Party on NXT CW debut


The CW debut event of NXT took place in Allstate Arena Chicago, Illinois; WWE superstar CM Punk’s hometown. The Best in the World served as a special guest referee during the Ethan Page vs. Trick Williams match for the NXT Championship.

In the action-packed match, both the superstars delivered several moves on each other including Page’s Go To Sleep which is also the signature move of Punk. Eventually, Williams claimed the victory against Page defeating him for the championship to become two times NXT champion.

Following the match Punk delivered a GTS to Page and as Williams was celebrating with confetti falling in the ring, Punk took the microphone to address the crowd. “I don’t wanna cut the champ’s celebration short,” Punk said. “But I gotta tell you a little secret. On your way out, ladies and gentlemen, get yourselves some Lou Malnati’s Pizza on us. Share with your friends, share with your neighbors. Remember, I love you, we are,” he added pointing the microphone to the new champion, and Williams added, “NXT.”

Fans cheered the great gesture from Punk, Williams, and NXT as loud cheer erupted in the arena. Many fans took to social media to share glimpses of the pizza box they got as promised.

With the historic CW debut of the Black and Gold brand, WWE Senior VP of Talent Development Creative, Shawn Michaels unveiled the new WWE NXT World and WWE NXT Women’s World titles alongside his longtime partner and member of iconic D-Generation X, simply DX stable; Paul "Triple H" Levesque. With the move, the brand has started a new chapter on CW.
