WWE is set to host the annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the SmackDown episode before WrestleMania 41. This event, honoring the late Andre the Giant, will take place on April 18, 2025. Andre the Giant is regarded as one of the iconic figures of WWE, who was known for his immense size and presence in the ring. Though he became one of the most prominent wrestlers of his time, however, his career was not very easy later in life when he was diagnosed with acromegaly, a rare hormonal disease that causes abnormal growth of the body.
The wrestler recently came into focus after WWE officially announced the annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. As per the company, the event will once again be hosted on the go-home edition of SmackDown before WrestleMania, where it has taken place for the last four years.

WWE has recently announced the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle this week. As WrestleMania 41 is just a few days away, on this week's SmackDown the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal returns. As per reports, the event will be held of April 18, 2025, just one-day prior to the Show of Shows.
This is not the first time that the namesake battle royal will be held. The inaugural battle royal was held at WrestleMania 30 in the year 2014 and was won by Cesaro. The match is honored under the name of Andre the Giant, who happens to be the first WWE Hall of Fame inductee.

The match was named after him, "The King of the Battle Royal." Andre was known by the name due to his giant stature, seven feet height and weighing over 500 pounds.
Over the years, many wrestlers have engraved their name in this namesake battle royal. Since 2014, seven wrestlers have won it so far, and it includes players like Cesaro, Big Show, Baron Corbin, Mojo Rawley, Matt Hardy, Braun Strowman, Jey Uso, Madcap Moss, Bobby Lashley, and Bronson Reed.

WWE is preparing for the showdown at WrestleMania 41, the company will hold SmackDown on April 18 for the last time before the players proceed towards the ring at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fans are waiting in anticipation to witness what will unfold at the final SmackDown before WrestleMania 41.
