Bahrain Grand Prix Power Rankings: Pierre Gasly ranks 3rd, Lewis Hamilton 10th — see the full list

Oscar Piastri dominated the Bahrain Grand Prix, securing a perfect 10 in the Formula 1 Power Rankings, which assesses driver skill independently of car performance. George Russell's strong second-place finish earned him a 9.6, while Pierre Gasly's surprising performance landed him third with an 8.8.

The Bahrain Grand Prix has wrapped up on a slightly predictable note, with McLaren continuing to keep ownership of the winner’s trophy. With the fastest car, it was very much possible for Oscar Piastri, who won his second race of the season after the one in China. Now, Formula 1 has revealed the Power Rankings to rate the F1 drivers’ skills on the track, minus the strength of their supercars.

How Power Rankings work

According to Formula 1, a five-judge panel assesses each driver on the basis of their performance and not their cars in a Grand Prix and gives them a score out of 10. That race score is then averaged out to get a season average score.

Here are the Power Rankings for the Bahrain Grand Prix

McLaren’s Oscar Piastri is on top of the Power Rankings with a 10 out of 10 score after winning the Bahrain race. He got the pole position, did the fastest lap, and crossed the finish line first with 25 points. Just like the race results, Mercedes driver George Russell is at number 2 with a 9.6 score after coming second despite dealing with multiple car issues and successfully barring Lando Norris from surpassing him on the track.
Alpine’s Pierre Gasly is a surprising number 3 with an 8.8 score on the Power Rankings for winning the first points of the season for his team. In the race, he was just behind Max Verstappen at number 7. He is followed by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc with a score of 8.6. He lost the podium spot to Norris and came fourth in the race.

Another surprise in the Power Rankings is Haas driver Esteban Ocon at number 5 with a score of 8.0. He had suffered a crash in the qualifying race, but finishing 8th in the Sunday race seems to be the reason for him impressing the judges. Verstappen is in the same spot in the Power Rankings as the one he got in the race. He couldn’t do any better while dealing with multiple issues surrounding his Red Bull and therefore scored 7.4 on the list.

At number 7 is Haas driver Oliver Bearman with a 7.2 score. He qualified last but managed to get 10th position in the race. Norris is behind him with a score of 7 out of 10. He qualified sixth but still clinched the third spot in the race. Among the last ones are Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli with a 6.8 score and Lewis Hamilton at the bottom with a score of 6.6.
