Triple H announces Gauntlet match for Monday Night Raw

Triple H made a major announcement about Monday Night Raw. The announcement was made during the post-show of Evolution 2025. This week’s Raw episode will see a Gauntlet match between five wrestlers. The winner will face Gunther at Summerslam for the World Heavyweight Championship. SummerSlam has been scheduled for August 2 and 3, 2025.The WWE Evolution's post-show saw some major announcements and updates. One of them was Triple H announcing the Gauntlet match. The match has been scheduled for Monday Night Raw. Penta, LA Knight, CM Punk, Bron Breakker and Jey Uso will face each other to decide the No. 1 Contender for SummerSlam. The winner will face Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. SummerSlam has been scheduled for August 2 and 3, 2025. During the post-show of Evolution, Triple H stated, “Tomorrow there will be a Gauntlet match on Raw. Maybe one of the biggest Gauntlet matches we have ever done.” The Chief Content Officer of WWE went on to announce the names scheduled for the match.“Penta, LA Knight, CM Punk, Bron Breakker and Jey Uso to determine who will go to SummerSlam to face Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. So big night tomorrow.”Gunther recently retained his World Heavyweight Championship against Goldberg. The match took place during the Saturday Night Main Event. It was Goldberg’s last match before the wrestler retired. The Hall of Famer had a proper farewell match while Gunther continued his championship reign.With the Gauntlet match being announced, Gunther now might have to face a new opponent. However, some of the wrestlers lined up for the Raw match have already faced Gunther. The wrestler has faced Jey Uso previously. Uso defeated Gunther in a championship match during WrestleMania 41. Later, Gunther defeated Uso during a recent episode of Monday Night Raw. CM Punk also got into a brawl with Gunther in an episode of Raw. Punk was initially targeting Seth Rollins when Gunther came in between. Punk and Gunther have not faced each other in a singles match yet.
