Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan may soon trade his signature leg drops and bodyslams for public service in Washington, D.C. The WWE Hall of Famer revealed in a recent interview with FOX News’ Brian Kilmeade that President-elect Donald Trump floated his name as a potential appointee to lead the President’s Council on Physical Fitness.
Hogan’s admission has already stirred excitement and speculation, marking a potential new chapter in the wrestler’s storied career.
According to the
FOX interview with Hogan, the idea emerged during a conversation at Madison Square Garden following a Trump rally in New York. “My president said, ‘You know something, you’d be great to run the President’s Council on Physical Fitness,” the icon noted.
The President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition is a federal advisory committee that promotes healthy eating habits and physical activity among Americans. Renewed under President Biden until September 30, 2025, the council’s mission aligns with growing concerns over national health and wellness.
Hogan elaborated on the origins of their conversation, highlighting his longstanding interest in fitness and nutrition. He recounted discussing food quality standards with Trump backstage.
Hogan noted, “At the end of the day, we were talking about Robert Kennedy, I was talking about nutrition, and how many foreign countries won’t even let their people eat the food that we eat here in America.”
“He didn’t mince words about the state of American nutrition, adding, “It’s so bad, and it’s poisoned a generation of kids. And at the end of the day, we start talking about physical fitness,” he further said.
While Trump has not formally announced Hogan’s potential appointment, the possibility of the wrestling legend joining his administration has already sparked widespread conversation online. Hogan’s connection with Trump, solidified by his headline-grabbing appearance at a New York rally, underscores the unique mix of entertainment and politics that often defines the President-elect’s choices.
