AHMEDABAD: Ahmedabad's top senior tennis players
Yogesh Shah and Manoj Upadhyay managed to win double titles respectively in the recently concluded ITF Seniors Tennis Tournament organised by Srag tennis academy here in Ahmedabad.
Both the players swept away top honours in the 55 and 45 years categories respectively.
In the 55 years category, Yogesh was the top seed and he got the better of third seed N Palanganda 6-2, 7-6 in the singles final.
Top-seeds in the doubles, Yogesh and his partner T Bilikere Siddaraju crushed the pair of Srikanth Parek and Padmanabhaorao Tatavarty 6-3, 6-3 to make double title for Yogesh.
Meanwhile, Manoj too got his share of glory in the final of 45 years category. An unseeded Manoj toppled the top seed Bhushan Chandra 6-1, 6-0 to emerge the surprise winner.
He then paired up with Vinod Seth and the second seed pair came from a set down to once again upset the top seeded pair of Bhushan and Alok Bhatnagar 1-6, 6-3, 10-4 in an enticing final.
