Vazirani shocks top seed Mohit Mayur in Pune Open tennis

PUNE: Maharashtra's unseeded Kunal Vazirani created the biggest upset of the event as he upset top seed Mohit Mayur Jayprakash of Tamil Nadu 7-6 (3), 7-6 (3) to enter the second round of the Telenor Trophy Pune Open tennis tournament at the Deccan Gymkhana courts on Monday.
In another close match, upcoming state player Aaryan Goveas edged out Suraj Prabodh of Karnataka 6-4, 6-8 (5), 6-4 in a three-hour match to enter the round of 16.
In the women's section, Somya Vig of Gujarat upset fifth seeded Aastha Dargude 6-3, 6-4 while Isha Budhwal of Madhya Pradesh upset eighth seeded Krishnali Bhonsale of Tamil Nadu 6-0, 6-0 to enter the second round.
