NAGPUR: The giant-killing run of Vishnu Vardhan continued as the unseeded Telangana player emerged champion in the Gondwana Club-Dinshaw's Men's

All India Ranking Tennis tournament

which concluded at the Gondwana Club courts on Friday.


In a one-sided men's singles summit clash, Vishnu steamrolled

Raghav Jaisinghani

of Madhya Pradesh 6-3, 6-2 to complete a dream week.

The former 2010 Asian Games men's doubles medallist, Vishnu displayed glimpses of his old magic to clinch the title.

The tall and lanky Vishnu dominated from the word go and put his opponent on the backfoot starightway. Although unseeded Jaisinghani tried to make a comeback he could not stop an inspired Vishnu. Vishnu displayed quality strokes both on the forehand and backhands to frustrate his Madhya Pradesh opponent. Vishnu held his serves in both the sets and also managed to break Jaisinghani's serves to race to victory.

The men's doubles title was bagged by third seed Anurag Nenwani and

Armaan Bhatia

. They got a walkover in the final by Chirag Duhan and Drona Walia.

, MSLTA treasurer Sudhir Bhiwapurkar, AITA supervisor

and tennis coordinator Ashok Bhiwapurkar distributed the prizes to the winners and runners-up.

Meanwhile, veteran matches started on Friday at 3 pm. Organizers said they have received total entries of 245 from all over Maharashtra. Next round matches will commence on Saturday evening.
