ABU DHABI: A day after he became the first Indian to have been part of Finali Mondiali Ferrari, Gautam Singhania, chairman and managing director of Raymond Group, went on to register a podium finish--coming third in the Coppa Shell category of the Ferrari Challenge EU Race 2 in the Ferrari Finali Mondiali 2014 held at the Yas Marina circuit here on Friday. Singhania was 14th overall out of 43 participants. The keenly-contested race saw high-speed racing and manoeuvring, and a close finish. While Netherlands' Dirk Adamski finished first, Rick Lovat of Canada came second. Singhania ---who started from the 26th spot on the grid ---had the difficult task of working his way up."This certainly was one of the best races I have been part of. There was a lot of pushing and shoving, but I was successful in keeping my nerve to finish in the top-3," said Singhania after the race."Not for once did I lose my focus, and perhaps this single-mindedness helped me to slug it out against some of the finest competitors," Singhania added.
