BRANDS HATCH: Anthony Hamilton registered the slowest lap amongst the 26 racers and his son Nicolas was a little faster. The father and brother of Lewis Hamilton had a taste of the fast lane at the Volkswagen Scirocco Cup here where India's own Aditya Patel completed a top-ten finish in Friday's free practice. Incidentally, Nicolas suffers from cerebral palsy -- a condition which leads to severe problems with movement, posture and co-ordination.
It's not that the Hamiton duo has no experience in the trade -- the senior Hamilton was the manager of Force India F1 driver Paul Di Resta, winner of last year's DTM race, while his son started his racing career in the British Cup earlier this year.
The Hamiltons are pitted against each other as guest starters in the practice and would be competing for the title in Saturday's race. "Nicolas is definitely progressing since starting earlier this year. What I find impressive about him is his determination to race," said Anthony.
Chennai-born Patel, on the other hand, was seeking to make amends for his failure to win the last race in Germany where he won for the better part of the race but finished third. "It's disappointing. Rain during the race made all the difference in the end. But it looks good here, bright and sunny," Patel, who finished 10th fastest on Friday, said.
Patel said he was looking ahead to do well in qualifying. "Here there's only one point where you can overtake others. So it's not going to be easy if you start from behind," said the Indian who's lying fifth.
