JAIPUR: The atmosphere at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur was electric as a full house cheered for the Jaipur Pink Panthers who defeated Mumbai outfit U Mumba 36-32 in a Pro Kabaddi League Season 5 game on Saturday. Earlier in the evening, in an Inter Zone wildcard match, Haryana Steelers edged past the Telugu Titans 32-30 in a thriller.

It was a tale of two halves between the first season's finalists who put on a show for the gallery. Despite U Mumba captain Anup Kumar keeping up the pressure on the hosts, Manjeet Chillar anchored Jaipur in the home leg to see them through. Panthers' Jasvir Singh, though, played a major part with his nine raid points as the crowd repeatedly chanted his name. Captain Manjeet's six points while tackling also proved invaluable.

While the duo's raids or defensive manoeuvres were cheered, the spectators were at their loudest when Anup was stopped by the Panthers' might.

The second half began with Jaipur trailing 16-15. But, in the second minute of the second half, the Panthers achieved the all-important all out which meant that they now led 20-16 and the floodgates had opened.

The 11th minute of the second half saw another all out being scored by Jaipur which took the score to 31-20. At that point the game was virtually over.
