KOLKATA: A day after sealing their playoff berth, Bengal Warriors' all-conquering run at home ended with Dabang Delhi beating them 37-31 at the Netaji Indoor Stadium on Sunday.

While already-qualified Dabang finished their league campaign with 68 points from 22 matches, the defeat dealt a blow to the home team's hopes of finishing as group toppers. With 59 points from 19 matches,

The Surjeet Singh-led side can still achieve that goal provided they win their remaining three matches and current Zone B leaders Bengaluru Bulls (72 points from 20 matches) lose their final two.

Iranian international Meraj Sheykh was the star of Dabang's victory, garnering 13 points.

In their previous face-off in PKL-6 back in October, Surjeet and Co. had produced their worst defensive show, managing just two tackle points as Dabang beat Warriors 39-30. The Warriors produced an improved show on Sunday, but it wasn't enough for them to stop the marauding Iranian.

Warriors had, however, started with a bang. Maninder Singh cleaned up three rivals for a super raid in the game's very first move.
