NEW DELHI: India's Parveen Kumar secured the eighth position in the men's F57 javelin throw final at the Paris Paralympics on Saturday. The 32-year-old's best throw of 42.12m was achieved in his fourth attempt.The gold medal was claimed by Yorkinbek Odilov from Uzbekistan, who threw an impressive 50.32m. Muhammet Khalvandi of Turkiye won the silver with a throw of 49.97m, PTI reported.
The bronze medal went to Cícero Valdiran Lins Nobre from Brazil, who managed a throw of 49.46m.The F57 classification is designated for field athletes with limb deficiency, impaired muscle power, or limited passive range of movement affecting their upper limbs.
