NEW DELHI: Shooter
Swapnil Kusale of India qualified for the 50-meter rifle finals on Wednesday by placing seventh in Chateauroux.
The top eight shooters out of 44 advanced to the final round, with Kusale scoring an aggregate of 198 (99, 99) in the kneeling position, 197 (98, 99) in the prone position, and 195 (98, 97) in the standing position, as per PTI.
With an overall score of 590 (38x), Kusale placed first, ahead of China's Liu Yukun, who ended with 594 points, and Norway's Jon-Hermann Hegg, who came in second with 593.
Serhiy Kulish of Ukraine finished third with 592 points, followed by Lucas Kryzs of France in fourth place (592-35x), Lazar Kovacevic of Serbia in fifth place (592-33x), and Tomasz Bartnik of Poland in sixth place (590-40x).
Jiri Privratsky of the Czech Republic finished last with a 590-35x score.
In Kolhapur, Kusale receives training from Tejaswini Sawant.
