Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma were recently seen taking a leisurely walk through the streets of London, enjoying some quiet time together. The couple engaged warmly with local residents, showing an approachable and down-to-earth side despite their global stardom.


The pair were dressed casually, soaking in the city atmosphere, a brief respite before Kohli begins preparations for India’s upcoming ODI series in Australia in October. Fans quickly shared photos and videos of the outing on social media, praising the couple for their simplicity and warm interactions with fans.

Back to Training

Even while taking time out in London, Kohli has not been idle. He shared photos from an indoor training session with Gujarat Titans’ assistant coach Naeem Amin, working on his batting skills ahead of his much-anticipated comeback.

"Thanks for helping out with the hit, brother. Always lovely to see you," Kohli wrote on Instagram. Naeem replied, "Good to see you brother! See you soon."

He last played competitive cricket in June during the IPL 2025 final, scoring 43 runs to help Royal Challengers Bengaluru secure their maiden title. With 14,181 ODI runs and 51 centuries, Kohli’s legacy in one-day cricket remains unmatched. In the previous ODI World Cup, he scored 765 runs, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s record.

A Gala Evening and Fond Memories

Kohli also attended a star-studded gala dinner hosted by Yuvraj Singh in London to raise funds for his YouWeCan Foundation. Former cricketers such as Sachin Tendulkar, Kevin Pietersen, Chris Gayle, Brian Lara, and Ashish Nehra were present.

During a candid session hosted by Gaurav Kapoor, Kohli joined fellow legends on stage and shared rare reflections on his Test career.

"I just coloured my beard two days ago. You know it's time when you're colouring your beard every four days," he joked, referencing his retirement from Tests. He also spoke about his bond with former coach Ravi Shastri:



"Honestly, if I wasn't working with him… what happened in Test cricket wouldn't have been possible. The clarity which we had together is very hard to find… I always have respect and regard for him, for being a massive part of my cricketing journey."

He also reflected on his early days with Yuvraj Singh and other teammates:

"We shared a very good bond both on and off the field. He, Bhajju Pa, and Zaheer Khan took me under their wings. Really helped me grow as a player and made me comfortable in the dressing room. These are the bonds I would cherish for the rest of my life."

Observing Pressure at Wimbledon

Kohli was also spotted at Wimbledon’s Men’s Round of 16 match between Novak Djokovic and Alex de Minaur. Speaking with Vijay Amritraj, he shared his thoughts on the pressures of cricket versus tennis:


"It's a lot of pressure because there are so many people in the stadium. But I'd say that it's not as intimidating as the Centre Court… The pressure these guys must be feeling… it’s tremendous. I have a lot of respect for tennis players for that reason — maintaining composure, fitness, and mental strength, it's truly remarkable."

He compared the intensity to peak cricket moments: "The intimidation factor could only be replicated for us in very peak kind of World Cup games, like an India-Pakistan match or a semi-final or final where your legs are shivering because of sheer pressure."

Supporting Team India

Even off the field, Kohli has been vocal about the achievements of his teammates. Following India’s thrilling six-run victory over England at The Oval to draw the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2-2, he praised the efforts of Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna on social media:

"Great win by team India. Resilience and determination from Siraj and Prasidh has given us this phenomenal victory. Special mention to Siraj who will put everything on the line for the team. Extremely happy for him."

Preparing for a New Chapter

Following his retirement from T20 internationals after the 2024 World Cup and the conclusion of his Test career in May, Kohli is now focused on ODI cricket. This period in London has allowed him to spend time with family, engage with fans, and keep his skills sharp ahead of a significant series against Australia.

Despite rumours and speculation about his future, Kohli remains committed to the game: a mix of family, fitness, reflection, and preparation marks the current chapter of the career of one of cricket’s all-time greats.
