MUMBAI: A day after TOI highlighted the plight of

Vidyadhar Paradkar

desperately looking to shift out of his house on the ground floor due to the impending arrival of monsoons, the noted

cricket

coach was helped out by his landlord, who has offered to shift him in the latter's house on the first floor.

"After my landlord read the article in TOI, my landlord requested me to shift to his house, which is lying vacant on the first floor. My landlord, Harsh Pannalal, has played for

in 'B' division in local cricket. I'm thankful to TOI for bringing out this article," Paradkar said.

Almost a year after floods almost destroyed his home in Grant Road, the 74-year-old, who has coached the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Zaheer Khan and Wasim Jaffer and England's discarded opener Haseeb Hameed, was eager to shift out of his house, located on the ground floor of Pannalal Terrace building, next to the Gilbert Tank maidan.

On August 8 last year, a heavy downpour left Paradkar's home flooded, forcing Paradkar and his wife, Pramila, 64, to shift to a relative's house in Walkeshwar.
