Indian cricket star Mohammed Shami expressed his love for his daughter Aaira on her 10th birthday through an emotional Instagram post on July 17, amid ongoing legal battles with his estranged wife Hasin Jahan over alimony payments and custody arrangements.Shami shared touching photos with Aaira along with a heartfelt message saying, "Dear daughter, I still remember all those nights when we stayed awake, kept talking, kept laughing and especially your dance. I can't believe that you are growing up so fast, I want only good things for you in life. May God give you love, peace, happiness and good health today and always. Happy birthday."The father-daughter relationship has been complicated since Shami's separation from Hasin Jahan in 2018. Aaira currently lives with her mother in Kolkata. In a previous social media post showing a mall outing with his daughter, Shami had written, "Time stood still when I saw her again after a long time. Love you more than words can say, Bebo."The couple's marriage fell apart after three years when Jahan accused Shami of sexual abuse in 2018. Their legal battles continue, with the latest development being a Calcutta High Court order directing Shami to pay monthly maintenance of Rs 1.5 lakh to Jahan and Rs 2.5 lakh to Aaira.Speaking to PTI about the court order, Jahan expressed mixed feelings: "The lifestyle that Shami Ahmed lives Rs 4 lakh is less. We had demanded Rs 10 Lakh every month for seven years and four months back. Now that the cost of things has also increased, we will go for 'CAVEAT'." She added that while respecting the judgment, she believes they deserve more considering Shami's status and her daughter's future needs.The court's decision came after Jahan's initial request for Rs 10 lakh monthly maintenance (Rs 7 lakh for herself and Rs 3 lakh for Aaira) was dismissed by a lower court.
