NHL Trade Rumours: Phillip Danault, Ryan Strome, Mason Marchment linked to potential trades
The NHL trade market is presently in a state of crisis as far as the centers are concerned, and that’s why the likes of Phillip Danault, Ryan Strome, and Mason Marchment have become the center of rumors. Depth in the middle is a big thing for teams, and hence, the old players whose production has decreased or whose roles have changed are the ones being watched closely.
The entire scenario regarding Phillip Danault in the Los Angeles Kings has been the talk of the town. With offensive woes being the reason behind his reduced ice time, the word is that the teams have begun to make inquiries regarding his availability. As the trade freeze comes nearer, the insiders in the league are of the opinion that the calls might be made earlier.
Friedman also named Ryan Strome as a player to monitor. The Anaheim Ducks center has been out with an injury, has been a healthy scratch, and is playing in a reduced role now, although he is signed till 2027.
On the flip side, Mason Marchment of the Seattle Kraken is a winger who might become free through a trade in the middle of the season. Friedman is expecting a deal to occur only after the full team is assembled in Seattle, taking into account the situation of the player's contract about to end, and also the fact that there has been interest from other clubs in the past.
With the centers available being very few in number, the teams have made the experienced players like Danault, Strome, and Marchment their objects of very close monitoring. As the roster freeze time comes, the trading speculations around these names are likely to explode rather than die down.

Why are Phillip Danault, Ryan Strome, and Mason Marchment being linked to trades?
NHL analyst Frank Seravalli noted that the Montreal Canadiens are one of the interested parties in Danault, who played for six years in Montreal and helped the team to the 2021 Stanley Cup Final. According to TVA Sports’ Jonathan Bernier, the Kings have made Danault available without much fanfare, and the player is amenable to going back. But, Elliotte Friedman said that Los Angeles is not in a hurry to deal him unless the offer is really good, especially when Anze Kopitar's retirement is looming.Friedman also named Ryan Strome as a player to monitor.
