Lamar Jackson, the quarterback, was in the center of the storm. There were more injuries, problems with communication, and reports of less chemistry between Jackson and the offensive staff. Harbaugh leaves Baltimore as the winningest coach in franchise history, with a Super Bowl title and 12 playoff appearances. But in the NFL, past success does not guarantee future security.

As the Ravens begin just their fourth head-coaching search in over 30 years, the message from ownership is clear: even the most established foundations are not immune when standards slip.
