“We’ve all had mistakes”: Mo'Nique stands by Shannon Sharpe months after he was accused of horrific sexual assault by a model

Shannon Sharpe has been in the news for the last few months after he was accused of sexually assaulting a 20 year old former model. While he has reached a settlement with the woman, his friend Mo'Nique has now broken her silence on the scandal. Last year, Mo'Nique had advised Shannon Sharpe on his podcasts to not date young women but now, it seems she has completely changed.

A few days ago, popular comedian Mo'Nique was live on her Instagram where she was interacting with her fans. Soon the topic shifted to her long time friend, Shannon Sharpe’s scandalous legal scandal with a young former model.



To this, Mo'Nique said, "Everyone keeps asking me how I feel about Shannon Sharpe. That’s my brother and I love him. That’s how I feel. That’s it…”

Mo'Nique added, "We've all not walked the perfect line, we've all had mistakes, we've all taken a fall, we've all had to get up and get to going again.”

The popular comedian continued. "So, that is my brother, and I love my brother."

Mo'Nique’s controversial statements about Shannon Sharpe’s scandalous legal mess comes at a time when the NFL legend has tried to publicly distance himself from the legal mess.

Shannon Sharpe maintains that he is innocent and never assaulted the model

When Shannon Sharpe was accused of the horrific sexual assault in April 2025 by the 20 year old former model, the NFL legend denied such accusations.

Shannon Sharpe issued statements where he spoke about the relationship with the young woman being “consensual” and that the two were into “BDSM and role playing”.

These revelations had gotten Shannon Sharpe brutally trolled as he is older than the woman by more than thirty years. Many fans had even pointed out that Shannon Sharpe’s children were much older than the woman who had accused him of assault.

However, till date Shannon Sharpe continues to maintain that he is “innocent” even though as per reports, he paid a whopping $23 million to the woman to settle the lawsuit.

Shannon Sharpe has yet to respond to Mo'Nique’s show of support towards him.
