Tyreek Hill, who made his NFL debut with the Chiefs in 2016 and won a Super Bowl in 2019, has been linked with a possible reunion in recent days. NFL insider Jeremy Fowler explained in an ESPN report that the trade could be seen as a "low-hanging fruit" for Kansas City. He noted that the Dolphins have so far rejected trade requests for Hill, but that stance may change if Miami continues its downward spiral following a heavy 33-8 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
Hill’s frustration with the Dolphins became public last season after a playoff-eliminating defeat against the New York Jets. Hill stated: "I don't even know, bruh. This is my first time I haven't been in the playoffs. For me, I just have to do what's best for me and my family -- if that's here or wherever the case may be. I'm about to open up that door for myself ... I'm out, bruh. It was great playing here but at the end of the day, I have to do what's best for my career. I'm too much of a competitor to just be out there."
Why the timing makes this trade speculation believable
The timing of these rumors is critical. The Chiefs’ offensive lineup appears incomplete, and Hill’s explosive speed and experience with Mahomes could provide a huge boost in a short time. On the flip side, the Dolphins’ poor performance is fueling speculation that management might reconsider holding on to Hill if another poor result happens in the coming weeks.
