The moment unfolded midway through the podcast when Jason Kelce decided it was time to investigate a viral post that had been circulating online. The report suggested that Donna was carrying out a sizable renovation project at her home, something that had even caught the attention of celebrity news outlet TMZ.
Jason dialed her during the recording.
“Mom,” Jason said.
Donna responded simply. “Yes.”
“We are doing the podcast right now, I’m on with Travis.”
“Mama! She can’t hear me,” Travis joked as the call connected.
Jason then brought up the online chatter. “We are wondering this tweet that has taken the world by storm.”
Donna immediately sounded amused by the attention. “It’s…what the heck? Even TMZ, you know, sent me a text and said, ‘Can you be on? This is really funny.’ I’m like it’s so stupid. You probably, probably, pulled the permit because they’re comin’ on Monday to put my windows and doors in.”
Jason tried to dig deeper. “Is it, is it like an HGTV show?”
Donna quickly shut that down. “No, no.”
“Knew it,” Travis jumped in.
The truth turned out to be far less dramatic than the internet assumed. Donna explained that the only work happening involved replacing windows in her apartment.
“All I’m doing…they…is my, my people are coming to put in my windows on Monday,” she said.
Jason, still playing along, teased his mom about the scale of the project. “What? You’re doing 16 windows? The article says 9.”
Donna laughed while explaining the layout of her place. “It’s because, you know, my whole apartment is all windows.”
Jason kept the jokes going. “Well, I just wanted to say, Mom, they said modest home. And I just, it feels like you’re turning this place into a bit of a gilded palace.”
Donna stayed practical, just as fans have come to expect. “Yeah, you know me. I am so, like, logical and it’s like I’m doing something so that I could save money on heating and air conditioning and to keep my windows from sweating. That’s as simple as it is.”

“Love you Mom,” Travis added.
