Super Bowl halftime show director joins BTS comeback: Could their first Netflix event be a halftime show-level spectacle?

A Super Bowl-level vision changes BTS's return

On March 21, 2026, the concert will be held in Gwanghwamun Square and will be streamed live. The background will be Gyeongbokgung Palace. This choice makes the performance more than just a stage show. It becomes a picture conversation between Korean culture and modern pop.

Hamish Hamilton has been in charge of the Super Bowl halftime show since 2010. Every year, he directs it and makes it look like a movie. He began with The Who at Super Bowl XLIV and then moved on to a number of well-known acts, including Madonna (Super Bowl XLVI), Beyoncé (Super Bowl XLVII), and Bruno Mars (Super Bowl XLVIII).

Later, Hamilton directed popular shows by Katy Perry (Super Bowl XLIX) and Coldplay at Super Bowl 50, followed by big performances by Lady Gaga (Super Bowl LI) and Justin Timberlake (Super Bowl LII). In recent years, he directed the visually bold halftime shows with The Weeknd (Super Bowl LV), the historic hip-hop showcase at Super Bowl LVI, and continued through Super Bowl LIX in 2025. This makes him the clear mastermind behind the halftime show.
