When Taylor Swift and
Travis Kelce first made headlines as a high-profile couple, fans eagerly watched every detail of their romance, from public appearances to social media moments. While Swift is famously known for her fashion-forward choices, insiders now suggest her influence on Kelce’s wardrobe may not be as significant as many assumed.
Travis Kelce has always been a style icon in his own right
Tom Marchitelli, a custom menswear designer and stylist, told Mirror U.S. Sports, “I don’t know if she’s influenced it as much as you think because Travis is one of the most style-forward athletes I’ve ever encountered, and he always stayed true to who he is.” Marchitelli emphasized that Kelce has consistently been ahead of fashion trends, frequently opting for custom pieces that reflect his individual taste rather than following Swift’s style.
According to the designer, “He always goes to fashion houses that most people don’t even know the name of,” proving that Kelce’s passion for unique menswear predates his relationship with the pop icon. In fact, Marchitelli shared that there have been just a couple of occasions where Kelce’s outfits paid subtle homage to Swift’s music — “a cute little personal joke they have between the two of them.”
Travis Kelce’s style is already a brand of its own
Far from being a follower, Travis Kelce is considered a fashion trailblazer in the sports world.
Marchitelli pointed out that “There’s no pressure on Travis Kelce to dress any better than he already does. He does things that kinda put people to shame, in my opinion.” Recently, Kelce was seen wearing unreleased Nike Jordan 4 sneakers, sent to him directly by the brand — a testament to his influence and status in the fashion space.
