Braxton Berrios is back in the news after an old comment about Tom Brady started circulating again. The quote came from Berrios’ rookie season with the New England Patriots in 2018. It resurfaced this week after Brady was seen spending time with Berrios’ former girlfriend Alix Earle during a New Year’s Eve party in St. Barths.

The renewed attention mixes football respect with off-field drama. While Brady and Earle have not commented on the viral videos, fans quickly connected the dots after Berrios’ praise for Brady began trending again on social media.

Braxton Berrios made the comments last summer while speaking on Texans radio, shortly after signing a one-year, $2 million deal with the Houston Texans.

Looking back on his 2018 rookie season with the New England Patriots, Berrios described learning directly from Brady during practices.

“To see what professionalism really looks like from a rookie year was the best start I could have had,” Berrios said. He explained that Brady often stopped drills to explain what he was seeing on the field.

“He would say, ‘This is what I’m seeing and this is what I’m thinking.’ That helped me understand the game better,” Berrios added. He summed it up by saying, “That year, I really think I got a PhD in football just watching him.”



The quote resurfaced after Brady and Alix Earle were filmed together at a New Year’s Eve yacht party in St. Barths.

Earle confirmed in December 2025 that she had split from Berrios after two years of dating. In an emotional post, she called Berrios her “best friend” and said distance played a role in the breakup.

Tom Brady has been single since his divorce from Gisele Bündchen was finalized in October 2022. This week, Brady shared a reflective quote on Instagram about kindness and later posted from his Florida home.

On the football side, Brady is expected to be in Chicago on Sunday to call the Bears vs. Lions game for Fox. He is two years into a 10-year, $375 million broadcasting deal.

Meanwhile, the Texans have already clinched a playoff spot. Braxton Berrios has had limited touches this season under head coach DeMeco Ryans but remains part of Houston’s postseason plans.
