While those credentials do not place him among star edge rushers anymore, they do show that he can still shine in plays and create pressure in key moments.


His biggest improvement with the Bills was his availability. After fighting with injuries from 2022 to 2024, Bosa managed to stay on the field for a full season, which changed how teams evaluate him heading into 2026 free agency.

The Minnesota Vikings are one of the most logical landing spots. The defense still needs a consistent edge presence to support Andrew Van Ginkel and Dallas Turner, and DC Brian Flores prefers aggressive pressure schemes that rely on rotation and situational rushers. Bosa fits that system because he does not need to play every snap to make an impact, and he can still win matchups on third downs. Minnesota also enters the 2026 season under pressure to compete immediately, especially with ongoing uncertainty at QB, which makes experienced defensive help even more valuable.

The Baltimore Ravens are in a similar position, even after adding Trey Hendrickson earlier in the offseason. ESPN NFL analyst Matt Bowen has pointed out that Baltimore continues to explore depth options on the edge because they want sustained pressure across an entire season rather than relying on one or two primary rushers. Bosa would give them another veteran option who can rotate in, keep starters fresh, and step up in obvious passing situations when needed.

The San Francisco 49ers have also been mentioned in passing because of the obvious connection with Nick Bosa, but roster needs and scheme fit make Minnesota and Baltimore more realistic landing spots at this stage. Joey Bosa’s market now feels less about name value and more about role, and both teams offer him a clear path to meaningful snaps in 2026.
