Trade chaos followed Maxx Crosby across the first week of March, and it didn’t take long for his family to react when the situation flipped again. What began as a headline-grabbing move from the Las Vegas Raiders to the Baltimore Ravens quickly turned into one of the more confusing stories of the NFL offseason. The star edge rusher appeared set to leave Las Vegas after seven seasons. Within days, though, the deal unraveled. In the middle of that sudden reversal, Crosby’s wife, Rachel Crosby, offered a short but pointed reaction that echoed the family’s support for the All-Pro defender while questions swirled around his future.

Maxx Crosby trade drama: why Ravens deal collapsed and how Rachel Crosby responded

The initial news arrived on March 7. Reports indicated that Maxx Crosby had been traded from the Raiders to the Ravens in exchange for Baltimore’s first-round picks in the 2026 and 2027 NFL Drafts. For a player who had become the emotional engine of the Raiders’ defense, it marked a dramatic shift.
Crosby didn’t stay silent. Later that same day, he released a new episode of his podcast, The Rush, reflecting on his years in Las Vegas and thanking the organization where he built his career. He also posted a nearly 13-minute tribute video on Instagram, revisiting the journey that began when the Raiders drafted him in 2019.
Rachel Crosby soon reshared the video on her Instagram story with a heartfelt message: “Best 7 years wouldn't trade anything 🖤 we love you so much”.That moment seemed like a farewell. It did not last long.Three days later, on March 10, Ian Rapoport reported that the deal had collapsed. The Raiders released a statement on social media saying, “The Baltimore Ravens have backed out of our trade agreement for Maxx Crosby. We will have no further comment at this time.”Rapoport later clarified the situation in another post, writing, “It is a medical reason, per @MikeGarafolo. Trades are contingent upon a physical.”The explanation sparked immediate discussion around Crosby’s health. His agent, CJ LaBoy, responded quickly to push back on the narrative.“Maxx continues to be on track in his recovery and if anything is ahead of schedule according to his surgeon Dr Neal El Attrache. Maxx remains on track to return during the offseason program & will undoubtedly return as the dominant game wrecker he has been these past 7 seasons.”Not long after that statement surfaced online, Rachel Crosby reposted it to her Instagram story with a three-word reaction that carried its own edge: “Say it louder 👏🏻👏🏻”.For now, Crosby remains a Raider. Whether that holds through the offseason remains an open question. The story stretches far beyond football for the Crosby family. Maxx and Rachel first met in 2016 at Eastern Michigan University, where he played football and she starred on the soccer team. They welcomed their daughter, Ella Rose, in October 2022 and have navigated several personal challenges together, including Crosby’s recovery journey in 2020.So the trade fallout lands in a larger life story. For the moment, the family stays rooted in Las Vegas, even if the NFL calendar suggests more twists could still come.
