According to NFL Network, former teammate Gerald McCoy shared Crosby’s exact words after speaking with him about the situation.

Crosby is currently recovering from a knee injury that ended his previous season early. Still, he has already begun his rehab and is working toward being fully ready for training camp. The failed move has also created another storyline because the Ravens moved quickly and signed pass rusher Trey Hendrickson to a huge contract soon after the trade collapsed.

McCoy shared Crosby’s message clearly. “I am going to be 200 percent by training camp, and the world is going to get the best version of 98,” Crosby told him. McCoy also passed along another warning Crosby had for the league. “He said Baltimore woke up a sleeping giant,” McCoy explained.

That statement shows Crosby is using the situation as motivation. Even after the trade fell apart, he immediately focused on recovery. Reports say he arrived at the team facility at 6 a.m. the very next day to continue rehabilitation for his knee.

While Crosby prepares for a comeback season, the Ravens moved forward with another defensive star. The team introduced Trey Hendrickson on a deal reportedly worth $112 million. During Hendrickson’s introduction, team officials highlighted his impact late in games.

“One of the things that stood out to me, since 2021, Trey is second in the NFL in fourth-quarter sacks,” the team explained while presenting the signing. Hendrickson also sounded excited about the new opportunity.

“I’m excited to go to OTAs. I’m excited to go to training camp,” Hendrickson said. “I’m a football player. I like my hand in the dirt. I like the smell of the grass. I like my cleats sweating after a hard practice.”

The defensive end added that competing with strong teammates pushes him to improve. “Can you believe what we can do if we sharpen each other for Game 1?” he said.

For now, Crosby remains with the Raiders, and the organization appears ready to build around him. Las Vegas spent heavily in free agency this offseason, investing around $280 million according to multiple league reports.
