Is Andy Reid stepping away from the Chiefs? Here is what you need to know

Speculation around Andy Reid and his future with the Kansas City Chiefs has picked up once again. With another season in the books, fans are wondering whether the veteran coach is thinking about retirement or if he plans to continue leading the franchise for years to come.

Who could replace Andy Reid if he retires?

Even though retirement talk is mostly speculative, some analysts have floated potential successors. One name that keeps coming up is Eric Bieniemy, the team’s offensive coordinator.



Former NFL defensive back Bucky Brooks recently suggested that Bieniemy could be a logical internal replacement if Reid ever decides to step away. Bieniemy has a long history with the Chiefs and is respected inside the locker room. Players like Travis Kelce have openly praised his leadership and impact.

Bieniemy left Kansas City before to look for a head coaching job, but has since returned. He might be a good choice in the future because he knows the system well and has a good relationship with Mahomes.

For now, Chiefs fans can relax as there is no confirmed retirement plan in place. Reid remains focused on competing at the highest level, and the team continues to build around its core.
