Josh Allen had a full week. The Bills quarterback showed up for the second round of organized team activities, getting reps in with his coaches and teammates. But what happened away from the field may have drawn just as much attention. Allen raised funds for the Patricia Allen Fund at Golisano Children's Hospital through his annual 117-hole golf challenge, then joined teammates to visit eight elementary schools across the area for a community takeout event. Meanwhile, his wife
Hailee Steinfeld has been candid about what life looks like now that they're parents.
How has motherhood changed Hailee Steinfeld’s day-to-day life?
Hailee Steinfeld’s latest reflections reveal that the biggest changes have not come through major milestones but through small moments that now carry more meaning.
“Since having my daughter, I’ve become exponentially more present in small ways. For example, I used to rush through my morning walks just to get outside and check it off the list.”
The actress explained that simple walks now move at a different pace. Rather than focusing on getting through a routine, she finds herself slowing down and taking in the world alongside her daughter.
“But with her, I’m going slower, observing what’s around us, pointing out what I see. I’m saying out loud, ‘Look at the beautiful sky,’ and ‘Good morning to the birdies!’”
Her sense of humor remains intact despite the demands of new parenthood.
When asked about the music currently dominating her playlist, Steinfeld admitted, “The only playlist I can think of right now is kids’ bathtime music.”
Perhaps the most revealing part of her update came when she reflected on self-confidence and personal growth.
“I’m proud of myself for just being able to be proud of myself. It’s not always easy. Also, my ability to do a lot of things one-handed these days impresses me.”
The comments offer a rare glimpse into the emotional adjustments that often accompany the first months of parenthood, even for public figures accustomed to life in the spotlight.
Why is Hailee Steinfeld prioritizing postpartum recovery and self-care?
While Steinfeld and Allen quickly returned to public appearances following their daughter’s birth, including attending fellow NFL quarterback Sam Darnold’s wedding, she says recovery remains a major focus.
The actress credited her doula for helping her better understand postpartum nutrition and highlighted support from close friend Ayo Edebiri. A gift from Edebiri included the book The First 40 Days, which has become an important resource during her recovery.
“You guys always ask me what I’m reading, and currently it’s ‘The First 40 Days.’ It was in the gift that Ayo got me.”
Steinfeld said one passage in particular stayed with her because it addressed how vulnerable new mothers remain long after childbirth.
“I’m halfway through this book, and every word has resonated. There’s a paragraph early on that talks about how even forty days after giving birth, you’re still in such a vulnerable state. People understand that about your new baby, but they don’t understand that about you, the mom.”
That realization has influenced how she approaches this stage of life. “I’m still in this early period and need to remember to be super gentle with myself in every way — physically, mentally, nutritionally, spiritually, all of it.”
As Allen continues his offseason work on and off the field, Steinfeld’s reflections provide a thoughtful reminder that the transition to parenthood involves more than sleepless nights and busy schedules. For the new mother, the journey has become one of slowing down, embracing vulnerability, and learning to appreciate progress in the smallest moments.
