NFC North News shared jumbotron footage of Caleb Williams at the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks vs. Winnipeg Jets game at the United Center. The 24-year-old signal caller sat next to MLB’s Chicago Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong. Both wore Blackhawks gear.NFC North News captioned their video clip: “YIKES. [three flushed face emojis] #Bears QB Caleb Williams was shown on the Jumbotron at the Chicago Blackhawks game and was BOO’D by the fans due to his playoff loss. Caleb Williams is the only Bears QB with a playoff win in the last 15 years… [grimacing face emoji].”This caption got fans fuming in support of Williams. Their reactions were not furious, though one said, “Ouch—fans can be brutal, even to the guy with the only playoff win in 15 years!” Others showed support for the 2022 Heisman Trophy recipient, unanimously saying he wasn’t booed but cheered loudly.

Cybercitizens support Caleb Williams despite crucial divisional round loss to Los Angeles Rams

The Chicago Bears’ no-longer-a-rookie playmaker gave his best under the guidance of first-time head coach Ben Johnson. Despite coaching malpractice, a derailing offense, and a defense that could not protect him (he was sacked 68 times) in his rookie season, Williams aimed for a fitting comeback! And he got that. The field general accumulated a franchise record 3,942 passing yards, 27 passing touchdowns, only seven interceptions, and 388 rushing yards with three rushing touchdowns.
He was sacked only 24 times in 2025 [as opposed to 68 in 2024!] He had a passer rating of 90.1. And he took the Bears to the playoffs after a 15-year drought. All glory here for his second stint with Chicago, but what comes off his jumbotron appearance? He’s booed. Cybercitizens gathered and loudly repeated in commotion: He wasn’t booed! He wasn’t booed! He wasn’t booed! Now, let’s check out their wholesome reactions.99K reach for “Where are the boos?” A user commented, “No one cares about hockey. Caleb did a hell of a job last night” [reached 90K]. Another chimed in, “[----]. He was cheered, loudly.” A fourth user directed the booing at Pete Crow-Armstrong, saying, “Boo’d a Cubs player maybe.” A fifth corrected, “Uhh it sounds like they’re cheering.” A user commented, "Don't believe satire news you see on the internet. Nice troll, bro." Another wrote, "I was at the game and there was no booing. Actually showed him many times to loud cheers!"One wondered, “Was he booed because they lost? Or because it’s been less than 24 hrs & he’s already clearly unbothered by the loss lol.” Another asked, “Are the boo’s in the room with us now?” A third user equated, “Standing ovation = boos ???” A fourth inquired, “[laughing face emoji] did you even watch the video 80% of them were standing cheering.” A fifth declared, “Lol everyone was cheering nice try.” While most were busy defending Williams, one user deviated the topic to a whole new level: “Caleb Williams looks like Karl Anthony Towns.”

Caleb Williams looks like Karl-Anthony Towns

Just as Lamar Jackson looks astonishingly similar to Hollywood legend Samuel L. Jackson, there is a crossover among sports leagues as well. NBA center Karl-Anthony Towns closely, uncannily resembles NFL quarterback Caleb Williams in terms of physical appearance and facial features. An X user named “bennius” recently shared their pictures placed side by side with the caption: “The two zestiest boys in professional sports Caleb Williams and Karl Anthony Towns gotta be related.” Another tweeted on Jan. 10, “Caleb williams is the karl anthony towns of the NFL.” A day later, another reiterated, “Caleb Williams is the Karl Anthony Towns of the NFL.” A third user shared in Dec. 2025, “Caleb Williams reminds me of Karl Anthony Towns. MVP ability but quirky! I think they love the game - obsession is needed to maximize talent. All that to say league better hope Caleb never figures it completely out [crossed fingers and folded handed emojis].” Translation: If Williams figures out NFL game’s nuances, he’ll become an unstoppable force on the gridiron.
