Ten days before Super Bowl LIX, 6abc Philadelphia reported that Philadelphia rapper and podcaster Nasir Fard, who goes by the names of “Gillie Da Kid” and “Gillie Da King,” had become the unofficial hype man of the Philadelphia Eagles. His victory videos from Eagles wins to ‘Blow The Whistle’ garnered millions of views on Instagram. The Eagles’ biggest fan said back then, “I just went outside and I played ‘Blow The Whistle’ and I just was dancing. That was the beginning of something that became epic.”Cut to present–six months later, it’s Gillie’s birthday! And, what does Eagles’ Chief Security Officer Big Dom (Domenico DiSandro) surprise him with? He shows up with the Super Bowl LIX Lombardi Trophy! The hype man suddenly went quiet, stock-still, and became emotional. That’s the power of love for a team–consistent, forever, and breathtaking.It looked like a birthday bash in a restaurant. Gillie Da King stood at the entrance. Big Dom, surrounded by reporters and fans, handed over the Super Bowl LIX Trophy to Gillie. The rapper held it like a baby and turned around. He carried the Lombardi Trophy in his arms with utmost sincerity, love, care, and pride–all at once.
