USC is 2–2 away from home, having fallen to Illinois and No. 9 Notre Dame. Maiava has been commanding the Trojans’ offense and has also garnered quite a bit of attention from scouts. Besides his clever plays, his on-field decision-making has also been appreciated.



Maiava is known for having one of the strongest arms in college football. As per analysts, he delivers deep outs and uncorks vertical passes with ease. His deep-ball precision is considered one of his top assets, as it helps USC stretch defenses and generate big-play chances. This season, he’s completing nearly 67% of his passes with 18 touchdowns, plus six rushing scores that highlight his athleticism.

Scouts reportedly admire his coachability, which can be a big asset for him when he’s being considered for big leagues. Maiava picks up coaching points quickly, adapts his play week to week, and continues to refine his anticipation and ball placement. USC’s offense has become more dynamic, and the Trojans are reaping the benefits of his ability to lead in critical moments.
