Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman Ben Cleveland was arrested on February 12, 2025, after being charged with driving under the influence (DUI). The arrest occurred in Baldwin County, Georgia, with Cleveland now facing two legal charges related to the incident.

Ben Cleveland Admits Consuming 3-4 Beers – Incident Explained

The 26-year-old Cleveland was pulled over around 10:25 p.m. after officers observed him swerving his truck dangerously close to a ditch. According to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, Cleveland was cited for both driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to maintain his lane. Upon being stopped, Cleveland admitted to consuming "approximately 3-4 beers" at a country club before getting behind the wheel. The police report noted Cleveland's behavior, stating that he appeared disoriented and unsteady when he exited his truck. After failing a field sobriety test, he was taken to a nearby jail for further processing. A Breathalyzer test administered shortly after his arrest revealed that Cleveland’s blood alcohol content (BAC) was 0.178, more than double the legal limit of 0.08.

Ben Cleveland's Arrest and Its Impact on Free Agency

The arrest marks a significant setback in Cleveland's career.
While the incident has legal ramifications, it also has the potential to impact his standing in the upcoming free-agent market. Cleveland, a former third-round draft pick from the University of Georgia, has spent his first four seasons with the Ravens. Over that time, Cleveland has played in 59 regular season and postseason games, but he has struggled to secure a starting spot. Of those 59 games, he only started seven, primarily due to stiff competition at his position on the offensive line. With the Ravens potentially looking for a new direction on their offensive line, Cleveland was expected to be a free-agent candidate this offseason. However, this arrest could raise concerns among prospective teams and potentially limit the number of offers he might receive. His DUI charge may create questions about his judgment and professionalism, making it more difficult for him to find a new team as he enters his fifth NFL season. As Cleveland deals with the legal consequences of this arrest, the Ravens and the broader NFL community will likely monitor how this situation plays out. It is unclear how much the incident will affect Cleveland’s market value, but one thing is certain—it will impact his future in the league. Also read - “They're Gonna Get Fu**d Up Tomorrow”: Lane Johnson Told This to Eagles Right Before Super Bowl LIX
