KARACHI: Pakistan's Sui Northern Gas team will take on Virender Sehwag-led Delhi in the five-day Mohammad Nissar Trophy match, starting on Monday at Feroze Shah Kotla.
Pakistan vice captain Misbah-ul Haq, who would also be a part of the team, expressed satisfaction about their preparation for the match despite the fact that players had not got match practice.
"We have been training hard, so I don't think lack of match practice will be a problem for us. I personally feel that everything is going well and lets hope that we're going to perform well there," Misbah said.
Misbah predicted a close and interesting match and said, "Obviously Sehwag is a key player for them and an important wicket for us as well."
Test all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez, who is the skipper of the Pakistani side, said "We have a good combination of guys, we have a young side and we did well in the last season. So we are very hopeful that when we go there we will perform better than our usual self.
"The match is prestigious for us because twice in the past Indian teams have won the Nissar trophy. So we are going to give it our best," Hafeez said.
The Nissar Trophy was introduced in 2006 as a tribute to the fast bowler, who bowled the first ever delivery for India in Test cricket.
Mumbai won the last edition of the tournament in Karachi, while Uttar Pradesh clinched the title in 2006 defeating Sialkot in Dharamsala.
