SURAT: Mumbai registered their second convincing victory in Ranji Trophy, defeating Gujarat by an innings and 239 runs with a full day to spare in their second round Group A Super League match at the Lalabhai Contractor Stadium on Wednesday.
After following on, Mumbai bowlers humiliated the hosts batsmen, wrapping them up for just for 44 runs in their second essay to complete the victory on the penultimate day of the four-day match.

A Singh (13) was the lone Gujarat player to score double figures as Ajit Agarkar, Dhaval Kulkarni and Ramesh Powar -- who took three wickets apiece -- sent the hosts packing.
In the first innings, skipper Wasim Jaffer (172) and A Rahane (104) helped Mumbai pile a 486 runs with Mohnish Parmar bagging six wickets for 143 runs for the hosts.
Earlier in the day, starting from their overnight score of 77 for six, Gujarat was bundled out for 203, thereby failing to save the follow on.
A Makda was the highest scorer for Gujarat with 71 runs while Singh made 41.
Kulkarni was the pick of Mumbai bowlers in the first innings picking up four wickets, Agarkar and Sairaj Bahutule shared two each.
Mumbai had earlier trounced Rajasthan by 237 runs in their opening group encounter of the Ranji Trophy.
