MUMBAI: Riding on Rishabh Mishra's unbeaten 110 (138b, 8x4, 2x6) and
Rahul Rawat's 94 (117b, 7x4, 3x6), and their 179-run opening partnership,
Uttar Pradesh sent Mumbai packing from the U-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy (one-dayers), thrashing them by seven wickets in the quarterfinal, at Ahmedabad on Saturday.
After electing to bat first, Mumbai posted 234 for seven off their quota of 50 overs.
They were reduced to 105 for five at one stage, before No 6 bat
Sarfaraz Khan slammed an unbeaten 105 (95b, 5x4, 2x6) rescued the team from choppy waters. Sarfaraz added 99 for the sixth wicket with Adeeb Usmani, who scored 42, to help Mumbai put up a fighting score.
Mumbai had started off well in the knockouts, beating Andhra by 28 runs on November 7. They scored 259 in 48.5 overs, with Sarfaraz's 95 (75b, 10x4, 2x6) again being the biggest contribution. Andhra were bowled out for 231, with IS Kazi taking five for 60.
