Mumbai beat Saurashtra to lift CK Nayudu trophy

MUMBAI: While the senior members of the Mumbai squad have failed to pull their socks in this season's Ranji Trophy so far, the U-25 team defeated Saurashtra to win the 2012-13 edition of the Col CK Nayudu Trophy, at Rajkot, on Wednesday.
Mumbai outbatted Saurashtra and won the game on the basis of first-innings lead. Mumbai had won the toss and posted 458 in the first innings with a marathon 153 from Nikhil Patil (Jr).
Left-arm spinner Vishal Dabholkar picked up four wickets to spearhead the visitors' bowling. Saurashtra were bowled out for 150 in the first innings.
Mumbai, who got a 308-run first innings lead, declared their second essay at 400 for 6.
Suryakumar Yadav scored a brilliant 118 in the second innings while Siddesh Lad chipped in with a morale-boosting 85.
